because I made a panel for my dogs that died or disappeared in May and accidentally deleted all those photos. All!:( I almost deleted the blog because it upset me so much. Uploading photos from the phone is difficult at the best of times but making a folder and then deleting it .. now that I have none of the dogs ... Heartbreaking. Still the guides wanted me to stop memorializing all the death around so maybe it's time to stop. I'll delete the rest when I can let go ... but not yet.

This old alpha of the pack died at 10 am. I heard that he cried a lot in the end.:( I'd been healing off the distemper attacks for months now but this time his flesh just fell off and he was just bones in 2 weeks. His improvement of last week just vanished before this spell of rain. He leaves behind a scared feral group of 3. He led their survival of the periodic firecracker hell the city becomes by the ancient dog run around the entire neighborhood for about a week. Very dangerous roads but his wily routes were the key to their long lives. He's left the group in the hands of a zealot dominant.:( The care ppl took of him I hope will relieve their anxiety wrt humans to some extent. For the first time, I saw ppl leave a dying dog alone while offering it food and water. Such amazing awareness and kindness to let this king of dogs choose where he dies!
